Good Morning!!!!
This week we have Bella guest-hosting! She's the perfect person with the perfect credentials to dissect Christian Bale's representation of Patrick Bateman - a very unstable and insecure trader on Wall Street who hates everything and everyone, including himself. Great reason to go on a killing spree I guess.
Enjoy!!!

>> Bella:Good morning.
>> Bridget:I'm Bridget.
>> Bella:And I'm Bella and this is Flicking Beans.
>> Bridget:Hi, Bella.
>> Bella:Hi, Bridget.
>> Bridget:We gave you so many shout outs already. I was so glad you're here.
>> Bella:I was obsessed. Oh, I'm obsessed with flicking Beans.
>> Bridget:I love you.
>> Bella:I have been on a binging spree of all of the episodes of recently, especially the horror psychological obsessed.
>> Bridget:That's all Wendy. She is so into that and she's kind of gotten me over. You know, we've watched several things where I've just looked at the. The thumbnail and I don't think so. I don't think so. Like even something so cheesy like Killer Clowns from Outer Space. Oh, I was.
>> Bella:I can't.
>> Bridget:I didn't even want to push play. So it's not morning, it's afternoon. We're not having coffee.
>> Bella:We're not.
>> Bridget:Let's have a. Cheers.
>> Bella:Cheers. I should have cracked it all, boys. For real. Cheers to Bush.
>> Bridget:So our movie this week was American Psycho. I don't remember the year, but.
>> Bella:Well, there was a novel first.
>> Bridget:Yes.
>> Bella:And the novel came out in 1991. And then I believe the movie came out in 2000. So it was quite a little bit of time afterwards.
>> Bridget:So. And you probably read this too. I was very interested in the fact that. That the book is just f****** blood and guts.
>> Bella:Gory.
>> Bridget:Just hack, hack, hack. But the adaptation was written by women.
>> Bella:Yes. The director was a woman. And I saw online was talking about how if she would have done it exactly like the novel, it would have been like an X rated movie.
>> Bridget:Horrible.
>> Bella:And she had to take out so many parts of it because it was just nasty and brutal. But now I kind of want to read the novel.
>> Bridget:Well, I do too. But she did kind of twist it into more like a look at men's insecurity.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:Period. I mean, female director. Give her a shout out. It was amazing.
>> Bridget:Yeah. Because you just wanted to laugh at him the whole time.
>> Bella:The whole time.
>> Bridget:Used the term unreliable narrator.
>> Bella:Oh.
>> Bridget:And I was like, wow. I get that.
>> Bella:I get that.
>> Bridget:Because he's the one telling you how it is. And the f****** whole beginning where he's working on his skin care.
>> Bella:Yeah. Like the routine. The like ocd. I had to try really hard not to psychoanalyze this man. The whole movie.
>> Bridget:It was great. Well, yes. Okay. Tell everybody what you study.
>> Bella:Okay. So I just finished grad school, guys, for clinical mental health counseling. So I was literally kicking and screaming and trying not to psychoanalyze this man. Freaking Patrick. I'll get into that later. Like, Truly, it's so hard to get diagnosed with antisocial, but I believe he's antisocial.
>> Bridget:Different from psychotic.
>> Bella:Yeah. Like antisocial personality is like serial killers usually.
>> Bridget:Oh, okay.
>> Bella:Yeah, yeah. So.
>> Bridget:Or I was just using a catch all.
>> Bella:Yeah, yeah, yeah. But also like. But also like ocd. Like you were saying in the beginning. Like his routine. Christian Bale apparently did the whole routine of Patrick Bateman the entire time during filming to know what it was like just to like truly become the character. And I'm like, that must have taken you like an hour every day. Like the routine.
>> Bridget:I thought too. What the time does he get up?
>> Bella:Exactly.
>> Bridget:Then he's like, I'm up to a thousand crunches.
>> Bella:Yes.
>> Bridget:With my cold ice pack on my eyes. Cuz they're.
>> Bella:And his face that he takes off at the end of like the first night or whatever that we watch. And he's removing his little face mask thing. But to be fair, Patrick Baitman, he looked good in this movie.
>> Bridget:Like he was also supposed to be like 25. Yeah, 26. I looked good then too.
>> Bella:But he was in good shape.
>> Bridget:Right, Right.
>> Bella:He was looking good. I was like. Okay.
>> Bridget:I just have to say though, there's. From the neck down. Cool.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:The hair. No. But Gyllenhaal had the same.
>> Bella:Like a Barbie Kendall. Yeah, he did. Like, he looked like Botox before Botox was a thing.
>> Bridget:There's something about Christian Bale's mouth that I kept visualizing things and it's not that far off.
>> Bella:No, I agree.
>> Bridget:Is a blood sucking parasite. It's a blood sucking creep.
>> Bella:I mean, did he ever bite some. I don't know if he bit anyone in this movie.
>> Bridget:Probably.
>> Bella:Probably every. Yeah.
>> Bridget:Which is this not also rare for a serial killer to have all these different means? That was kind of unbelievable.
>> Bella:Means to killing. Yeah.
>> Bridget:Especially throwing the chainsaw.
>> Bella:Oh. At the perfect timing at the end of the stairwell. And then the stabbing and the shooting spree. He was doing everything. He had a routine.
>> Bridget:You could see that at first when he's narrating while he's telling you about how great he is in his mourning that he says he's kind of not really there.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:He already acknowledges that he doesn't really have emotions except for greed and disgust. He already realizes that and he must just kind of start leaning into it. But I think that the things that make him sort of start crickety cracking are so stupid.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Like his colleagues and they're all flashing their brand new business.
>> Bella:That was like, the biggest scene. I feel like, like.
>> Bridget:Like anyone showing each other their dicks
>> Bella:and like, anyone who knows American Psycho knows the business card scene and how they're all showing each other. Oh, well, this is bone color. Well, this is egg color. Who cares?
>> Bridget:Exactly the same.
>> Bella:Exactly. Didn't they all say, like, vice president on them, too? Probably. I think vice president. And they are never working. When do we ever actually see them work?
>> Bridget:I also feel like they're not as much big wig as their social life pretends to be, because it's like restaurant
>> Bella:after restaurant after party.
>> Bridget:Weird New York City club life.
>> Bella:I wondered with that if the director was trying to, like, paint fun at Wall street, though, in the mail. Like, the higher you up in Wall street, the less you're actually working. Oh, and like, when you start off in Wall street, like, you're grinding, grinding, grinding. But these guys who are so well established now, they're making all this money and they're not actually working. Because I feel like one of the scenes we do see Patrick Bateman working, he's in. He, like, dancing around in his office, like, listening to music. And, like, my God.
>> Bridget:Can we talk about the music?
>> Bella:Yes.
>> Bridget:That's bizarre. Okay, so Bateman has. It's music at the time. Okay. But it's. He's got this way of just, like, when he's trying to, I guess, entertain his guests, AKA Hook. It's always in those scenes. And he can go on and on and on about details about this album and the top songs on this. I mean, Huey Lewis and the News.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Phil Collins.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:When he talks about Whitney Houston and he's laughed at. That's a bad move, girl.
>> Bella:That is a bad move. You just made the man angry.
>> Bridget:You cannot laugh at him. He's so fragile.
>> Bella:His ego is literally fragile. Yes. He is falling apart at the scene. He's falling apart. This man is not put together at all.
>> Bridget:No.
>> Bella:The repetition and the knowing the facts. I'm like, autism. Like, oh, my gosh. Like, you know all of these top songs and you know the album name and when it was produced and blah, blah. Right? I'm like, okay. Autistic, that is. Needs his routine. Needs, like, consistency.
>> Bridget:Know exactly the day of the week that someone was born in the year that they were born.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:That's nuts.
>> Bella:Yeah. Just so I also thought, like, autism.
>> Bridget:I'm, like, clutching my chest.
>> Bella:Yeah, you're like, oh, my gosh, Bella. You just. Yeah, that makes sense. Like, in the need for routine, the need for, like, getting what he wants. Like, when he can't get into dinner reservations, like, the nicest restaurant in town. And, like, he's throwing a hissy fit about how he can't get what he
>> Bridget:wants because if you can't get a reservation, you're not important.
>> Bella:Or he views at least himself as not being important compared to all these other Wall street guys. And, like, how do I protect my ego? How do I fit in? And I. Back to one of the first conversations he has with the fiance about how he doesn't like, yes, Reese. Reese Witherspoon. And he was like, I don't like work. Whatever. She wants to get married. And she's like, well, your dad owns the company. Just quit. And he was like, no, I need to fit in.
>> Bridget:Yeah, you have to be as good as those guys who are also doing the same thing. Everyone there is playing at being this, the top dog, this person that is not real. They talk about nothing. Their conversation is, where are we going for dinner? I said, yeah, yeah.
>> Bella:Literally nothing. So no wonder he's going crazy. He's living a lie. He doesn't want to be this person, but he's driving him crazy.
>> Bridget:Isn't. And he's also confused with somebody else.
>> Bella:Oh, there. He's always getting mistaken for somebody else.
>> Bridget:Yes.
>> Bella:Like, the whole movie.
>> Bridget:So how much less of a person do you feel like in that situation she's gotta just p*** him off? Just. Just digging and digging at him every
>> Bella:day, making him more murderous and murderous day after day.
>> Bridget:As far as the first time I watched it, I was so confused as to, is this really happening or is this in his mind? Especially when he comes back to Paul Allen, everything's cleaned up. Did it happen?
>> Bella:Yeah. Or that other instance where there was like, he killed someone on the blood sheets. And the woman came in and he was like, oh, sorry about the mess. Can you get the cleaners? And she was like, huh? And he was like, yeah, there's cranberry juice on the sheets. But she allegedly didn't see it. Or just freaking weird.
>> Bridget:Is it all in his head that cracked up because you realize he's killed, like, what did he say? Like, maybe 40 people and not one questioning, except by that detective. Where's Paul Allen? Yeah.
>> Bella:And allegedly it was Patrick who did kill Paul Allen, but nothing came of that.
>> Bridget:It's interesting because I. Maybe it is just a metaphor for that greed being portrayed as blood lust.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:I don't know.
>> Bella:I don't know.
>> Bridget:No one catches him. And that can't be right.
>> Bella:And is he truly evil or is he Just really mentally ill.
>> Bridget:I think he's just really mentally ill. I was going to ask you, what would you prescribe to him?
>> Bella:I lock myself in a fricking facility, honestly, like, Because, I mean, he has. If it's not all in his head, he obviously is showing signs of antisocial. Some sort of. Sort of schizophrenia, psychotic disorder, ocd. But if this is all in his head, then he's not actually antisocial. Then he's probably just having some sort of psychotic break. Schizophrenia, like, hearing and seeing things, like hallucinizations that he's doing things that he's actually not. So I'm like, maybe this man is just severely mentally ill.
>> Bridget:It does kind of leave it in limbo, doesn't it?
>> Bella:Yeah. Especially at the end.
>> Bridget:It's.
>> Bella:I feel like I want to believe he's just severely mentally ill because nothing adds up as the viewer.
>> Bridget:He was like, nothing mattered and admitting what I did didn't matter.
>> Bella:Yeah. On the phone, confessing all of his
>> Bridget:guilt, and his lawyer was just kind of. That was.
>> Bella:Yes. Like, calling his lawyer, confessing that he's killed all these people, and the lawyer being like, okay, yeah, man, that was hilarious.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:Like, thinking like, okay, dude, you're just crazy. There's no way that you could have done this.
>> Bridget:No, I just saw Paul Allen.
>> Bella:Paul Allen.
>> Bridget:It's crazy.
>> Bella:Or, like, you couldn't have killed him. He was on a flight to whatever or something.
>> Bridget:Maybe Paul Allen did leave at the same time. Christian Bale's character was fantasizing of killing him. So the fact that he was suddenly not there might have made him spiral and think he actually was a powerful killer.
>> Bella:Question for you, though. Do you think he actually went to, like, Pollen's house and actually was, like, in the place of all these crimes? Like, when he's on the killing spree, do you think he was actually there visualizing it? Or you think he's just in, like, his bed at home?
>> Bridget:In his bed at home?
>> Bella:Really? I'm not sure because, I mean, we don't know.
>> Bridget:I. I know he was so jealous, the fact that Paul Allen's apartment was slightly nicer. Well, big deal. You can't always be at the top, man.
>> Bella:There's always gonna be.
>> Bridget:You can be top adjacent and just be fine.
>> Bella:But he's not fine. It's his dad's company. So how much of, like, that childhood trauma rubbed off on you ever show up? I don't know.
>> Bridget:We don't know. A backstory, because that's 100.
>> Bella:Yeah. Something childhood Trauma. Is that why you are the way that you are?
>> Bridget:I know. That's why I am the way. Stay tuned. My book will be out soon.
>> Bella:I'm so excited for your book. I'm so excited for this book. Is it a memoir?
>> Bridget:Yeah, it's called Ungrateful Little B****.
>> Bella:Oh, yes, you told me that. I'm so excited. I hope you do an audiobook, too. And you. And you read it.
>> Bridget:Maybe you should read it.
>> Bella:I think you should read it because it's, like, read by the author and you would be, like, smiling and, like, cracking up during it. I think that'd be iconic. That would make it even better to listen to this book.
>> Bridget:It's heartbreaking.
>> Bella:I think you should read it.
>> Bridget:Okay.
>> Bella:Bridget's memoir.
>> Bridget:That's right. We could talk about just his general hatred of women.
>> Bella:Oh, yeah.
>> Bridget:When he says to his secretary, Chloe Savigny. How do you say it? Savigny.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Chloe. Chardonnay. They're having just a totally normal office back and forth, and he says, don't wear that outfit again.
>> Bella:He's like, wear a skirt tomorrow.
>> Bridget:And heels.
>> Bella:Yeah. And you can tell that she either likes him or is nervous.
>> Bridget:Yeah. I think she's probably slightly attracted. But also, there's something off about him.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:And being treated like that.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:In that world. I mean, let's go back to Melanie Griffith and Working Girl.
>> Bella:Working.
>> Bridget:You know, you're a woman in a man's world. You're never gonna think you're smart enough. You're always gonna be a. If you are, act as Amanda's in your same company.
>> Bella:Yeah. No, I agree. Other than Paul Allen, I mean, a majority of the people he killed were women with, like, the hookers and everything. And then there's that guy out on the street. Okay. That scene.
>> Bridget:That sucks.
>> Bella:That scene was terrible. I've read a lot of people will not watch this movie just because of that scene. Like, with the dog.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:And the homeless man, like, sitting outside, and he's trying to intimidate him and get in your face and like. You're such a piece of crap.
>> Bridget:Al the impression at first that he was gonna help him.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:At the very least to give him some advice and maybe a couple bucks. That's not what happened.
>> Bella:No. And the dog. Not the dog. Patrick. Not the dog.
>> Bridget:Not the dog. Full disclosure, I watched that scene and I paused and I rewound because I wasn't sure.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:If he let the dog be or not. There would not have been a dog in that scene if it wasn't Gonna get its a** kicked in.
>> Bella:Yeah. I mean, you never see it, but you can, like, assume because it's, like, whimpering, and I'm like, oh, no. That's where I draw the line.
>> Bridget:A lot of people have a lot of rage, but killing people, folks, let's not.
>> Bella:Let's not.
>> Bridget:Have you ever heard of the smash rooms?
>> Bella:Yes. Do you want to do one? The rage room?
>> Bridget:Yes.
>> Bella:Yeah. I need to build. I need to think of something I'm super angry about.
>> Bridget:I. Well, I don't know. It might just be fun, too, just
>> Bella:to smash some stuff.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:Yeah. I'm down. I'm down. I like that they give you, like, the whole outfit to wear and stuff and everything. Like, okay, that'd be cute.
>> Bridget:I don't know.
>> Bella:I'll. I'll throw some stuff around.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:I'll smash some boxes.
>> Bridget:Go in by yourself, and that will come out.
>> Bella:Oh, true. That could be like a therapeutic intervention. Like, okay, you're gonna go to a rage room every week. Unleash the beast.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:I think they're expensive, though.
>> Bridget:Oh, I'm sure.
>> Bella:I gotta build your own true.
>> Bridget:Go to Goodwill, get some old TVs, you know, some Cabbage Patch Kids, some breaky things.
>> Bella:Oh, my gosh, not the Cabbage Patch Kids.
>> Bridget:Whatever it is. When they do the thing where they put all the. Out on the curb, just collect all the breaky things.
>> Bella:Buy a shed. Buy a shed.
>> Bridget:Maybe even pink sledgehammers.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Because, you know, it's mostly gonna be us women.
>> Bella:Us women, we have the rage because we can't take it out.
>> Bridget:Female rage room.
>> Bella:For real. Female owned, female operated, female only. I'm all for discriminating.
>> Bridget:And think about what men's things we can break.
>> Bella:Oh, what's the first thing that comes to mind?
>> Bridget:Well, Xbox.
>> Bella:Oh, they'd be so mad. They'd be so mad. The PC setup, the gaming setup. Like football memorabilia. It would just be a lot of sports and a lot of video games. Maybe some hunting and fishing stuff.
>> Bridget:Stuff like their sneakers on fire.
>> Bella:Just don't breathe in the fumes.
>> Bridget:Yeah, right. No.
>> Bella:They give you that mask, I guess. Heck, no.
>> Bridget:Why were blondes so important? And this, I think, is the backstory that we never got. And I wonder if that's in the book.
>> Bella:No, I need to read that.
>> Bridget:I'm gonna say his mom is a blonde.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:And he was annoyed when the escort service sent over a girl that I thought was a redhead.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:He said dirty blonde.
>> Bella:But I was like, yeah.
>> Bridget:As soon as she walked up, I was like, oh, she's not blonde.
>> Bella:And he's not getting what he wants. You're making the man mad. Come on. Those poor girls, they're just trying to get their bag.
>> Bridget:The one hooker that he picked up, he picked her up twice and made her, you know, engage in a threesome with that other hooker. First time, it didn't get super violent until the end. You see him with a coat hanger.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:And then you know what happened? But he has bloody sheets again.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:He picks her up a second time and she's like, no. You know, I had to go to the er, so I'm just like, what the f*** did he do to her with a coat hang? Woohoo. Coffee break. Let's talk about our beans.
>> Wendy:Are you enjoying flicking beans? Don't keep it to yourself. Spill the beans. Movies are better shared and so is coffee. Can you drop our pod into a friend's inbox? Group chat. Or just tell that cashier at your coffee shop that you love our podcast. A little worth of mouth goes a long way. Let's spill the beans. Thank you, bean flickers. Love you.
>> Bella:Bye. True. So, like, maybe something did happen. He did hurt her to some capacity. If this is all in her head. Because that's the small bit that we get that this is actually true.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:And I mean, the symbolism on, like, coat hangers and like, female culture. I'm wondering, I'm wondering, wondering if, like, that. I don't. I mean, I mean, we don't know, obviously. I'm tightening up like, we don't know, but, like, the director was a woman. She obviously.
>> Bridget:No, that was definitely, definitely on purpose and meant to make a statement.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:That he is just brutal women and they don't garbage.
>> Bella:Yeah. Like the brutal hatred.
>> Bridget:It's got to be his mom.
>> Bella:It's gotta. We have to read the novel and have a book club.
>> Bridget:Oh my God, I want a book club.
>> Bella:I know.
>> Bridget:I barely have time to read.
>> Bella:Maybe there's an audiobook.
>> Bridget:An audio book club.
>> Bella:Well, an audiobook of American Psycho that, you know.
>> Bridget:Audio book club.
>> Bella:Audiobook.
>> Bridget:Just sit around, drink and listen to
>> Bella:a book for like the eight hours that it takes the audiobook to go through a week. Okay. Okay. For an hour. So it would take you two months to finish this audiobook.
>> Bridget:Okay.
>> Bella:You'll work out the logistics.
>> Bridget:Work it out. Yeah, I'll work it out. I would like to read it.
>> Bella:I do too.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:I think I'll probably have to put it down multiple times and be like,
>> Bridget:that was a lot like Joey with the Shining in the freezer.
>> Bella:Oh, have you and Wendy done the Shining?
>> Bridget:No.
>> Bella:You should. That's such a classic.
>> Bridget:It is. I love that. I love that.
>> Bella:Like, with spooky season coming up, like, in the fall, like, that could be good.
>> Bridget:All right. She was leaning more toward Hocus Pocus, and I was like, I've never seen it. What Business. I don't know.
>> Bella:You could do.
>> Bridget:It was funny.
>> Bella:You could do both. October's a long month, you know, you could do multiple. Back to American Psycho.
>> Bridget:Oh, remember when his colleague, the one that flashed his business card way after. But it was in the restaurant. Hey, guys, I got a new business card, too.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:And he's actually gay. And Christian Bale's character doesn't know that,
>> Bella:but you can kind of tell that he's, like, into him. Yeah.
>> Bridget:Yeah. He's so p***** at this business card. He literally puts on black leather gloves, goes to strangle him. But the guy thinks he's making a move.
>> Bella:I know.
>> Bridget:And that shuts him down. He can't cope.
>> Bella:He can't cope.
>> Bridget:He cannot cope. So he's also a homophobe?
>> Bella:Yeah, 100%. And I would venture to believe he's also racist.
>> Bridget:Oh, yeah, 100%. There's no black people in the whole movie.
>> Bella:Isn't that one the homeless guy outside?
>> Bridget:There you go. That makes sense, because from his perspective, he's racist. That's the kind of person that's gonna be homeless in the alley.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Yeah. Unreliable narrator.
>> Bella:Mm.
>> Bridget:Mm. Can't trust him. But it's definitely heady. I mean, it's a lot to unpack. And I bet you had fun.
>> Bella:I did.
>> Bridget:Unpacking it. Because you are a brainy whiz.
>> Bella:Yeah, I just. Just. You don't know if it's in his head. It's just driving me crazy.
>> Bridget:Yeah. You've seen the voices, huh? Okay.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:When he's on his meds.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:The world is rosy, huh? When he's off his meds.
>> Bella:Yep.
>> Bridget:It is blood and guts.
>> Bella:Yeah. Yeah.
>> Bridget:And the smell must have been awful.
>> Bella:No. Like, Patrick Bateman needs some meds. He needs some trauma therapy. He needs probably a trauma retreat.
>> Bridget:Oh, my God.
>> Bella:Like, it's where you go, like, somewhere warm and nice, and you spend, like, a week to a month there, and you do, like, really intense, like, long hour work on, like, therapy, and you just like, spend all this time working on yourselves, but you do it in this beautiful environment, so you usually do, like, sound baths, meditation, yoga. You do strolls on the beach, like, all your meals. Are catered for you. Like there's pools. I know know. Like that's my dream job to work at. I call it spa rehab.
>> Bridget:It sounds like what I want my full on life to be like calm.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Simple. Yeah. Restorative.
>> Bella:Yeah.
>> Bridget:Nature.
>> Bella:Yes.
>> Bridget:Boom. Yes. Yeah.
>> Bella:That's what I want. We need spa rehab. I will be the. The therapist and you could be whatever. Cuz you're going to want to work there. You know, you could do put me on Excel spreadsheets.
>> Bridget:Yeah.
>> Bella:Or the like receptionist. The cute little receptionist. Like, welcome to spa Reh.
>> Bridget:I could like be the you of the spa. Yes. The St. Kilda. Oh, Oh, I see you're down for 3. 45.
>> Bella:Oh, okay. Let me check you into your room. Here's a little key. Like here's your little. Here's what you call.
>> Bridget:Oh my God. Wherever that is in the world.
>> Bella:There's a lot.
>> Bridget:No, I mean yours.
>> Bella:Oh, I'm gonna make it.
>> Bridget:Yeah. I'm gonna work for you.
>> Bella:Okay. I need some money.
>> Bridget:But you will get there.
>> Bella:Okay.
>> Bridget:You're young.
>> Bella:Yeah. There's a lot of them. I just gotta go.
>> Bridget:Sounds amazing.
>> Bella:I know. Maybe we just. We have to make one in Iowa.
>> Bridget:Like a cult. No, no, no, no Slipping into something that was actually a cult.
>> Bella:I would not. Because people would only be there like, oh, yeah, like we don't want no like White lotus s***.
>> Bridget:Like. Or we don't want perfect strangers.
>> Bella:Yeah, we're not doing any of that. And it would be like people would not stay, like long term. It'd be like a week to a month. Like stabilization, counseling, yoga.
>> Bridget:If I could work and live somewhere where I could step my front door and take a walk in the woods. That's paradise.
>> Bella:Yeah. Yeah, we could do woods. I want to beach.
>> Bridget:Smell it right now.
>> Bella:Yeah, we could do the woods. And there'd be a beach and a pool. That's where Patrick Bateman needs to go. Actually, he probably needs a mental institution.
>> Bridget:Maybe needs some leg irons and handcuffs.
>> Bella:He probably needs a mental institution. Actually. If this is actually real, then yes.
>> Bridget:Yes.
>> Bella:But what if he was just all in his head? Then maybe he needs gentle like, hey, this isn't you. Hey, you've been thinking of this.
>> Bridget:No, no, because he has no ability to pull emotion. True. He doesn't even have the emotion of like.
>> Bella:Yeah. What does he like? Nothing.
>> Bridget:Himself.
>> Bella:True.
>> Bridget:Actually, no, he hates himself.
>> Bella:Ding, ding, ding.
>> Bridget:Yeah, he's got nothing. Except the facade.
